Students generally aren't lacking motivation: they're missing the tools needed to regulate their emotions and effectively solve the issues they face. We help clients build a toolbox through educational therapy, executive functioning, and emotional regulation support while providing stable footing in turbulent moments... one stepping stone at a time.
We work with students from elementary through high school, as well as college students, recent graduates, and working adults navigating learning differences, executive functioning gaps, and emotional or behavioral struggles. Sessions are available in person throughout Los Angeles, or virtually from anywhere.
Between a generation navigating more emotional turbulence than ever before and a curriculum that isn't matched to their developmental needs, kids are carrying more anxiety, depression, frustration, and resistance than ever before. That emotional dysregulation shows up as avoidance of challenges, both academic and personal. Most tutoring only triages the symptoms; it doesn't address the root causes underneath them. Educational Stepping Stones is not tutoring. It is a holistic approach, grounded in a therapeutic lens that prioritizes the student over the institution and their schoolwork, addressing all aspects of a student's struggles to guide them through service-appropriate support.

Deal with tension and fights over homework.
Have tried other professionals before, but things haven't gotten better.
You are not failing as a parent. Your family just hasn't found the right approach that works for you yet.
That's why we're here.
Feel like you are doing what you are being asked to do but told you are not?
Believe the rules and expectations of school are unfair?
Feel unmotivated, frustrated, exhausted, or confused?
Think that everyone else has it figured out, and that something must be wrong with you?
Want to do better, be capable and responsible, but don't fully understand why you can't figure it out?
This is more common than you think. It isn't about intelligence, and it doesn't mean something is wrong with you, it means you haven't found the right tools yet.
That's why we're here.
